I doubt I cud fink of 1000 songs I like that much to be bothered to put them in a list. I would struggle after about 400 and just put silly things in such as Michelle McManus

Being born in the 60's (and therefore an oldie...FACT! lol) and hearing music crossing many genres I have heard some real tripe over the years, I always have keep an open mind to all sorts of music, and todays music must rank as some of the best ever, especially for variety.

Of course there is still some tripe, usually the false mass-produced boy/girlband pop, but when you have the likes of, for instance, The Kaiser Chiefs, 50cent, Eminem, Green Day, Chemical Brothers, Joss Stone, Scissor Sisters to name but a few, it makes it worthwhile listening to radio 1, just to keep up with the new bands.

I have also 'been there, done that, got the T-shirt' when it comes to listening only to certain types of music because of peer pressure, I can listen to whatever the hell I want, thats a great feeling.
And it's a shame there are older people, (some younger than me) who think that 'modern music' is rubbish, maybe they should go and buy an album and listen to it before making a judgment,
