I can't imagine Chris even being entertaining on his own though.

Well try the sound vault. He didn't make it alone from local radio in Leeds to Radio 1 by the age of 23 without being entertaining.

Don't get me wrong, I think Scott Mills is a good listen, quite funny and a very good DJ - but I don't think he's anything that special in terms of Radio 1's history. He could quite as easily be on Tinpot FM presenting The Golden Hour. On the other hand I think Moyles is special - he is different. Hence the reason I listen and I'm guessing a lot of others too.

People hate him cos they think he is a shock-jock and too egotistical. Thats why I like him. I like the fact he is so up himself to care what anyone thinks. I like the fact he doesnt play enough records and takes the piss out of the station he works for and the people he works with. Its entertaining enough for me. Granted a lot of his success is down to interacting with Dave, but imagine them both on a show on their own and tell me who you think would be more entertaining.

I'd actually be interested to hear Chris on his own now to see what he'd be like.

i agree. the best dj on your local radio is probably on a par with scott mills. scott mills is just a local radio dj that somehow landed on radio 1.

apart from moyles n colin n edith i think the current djs on radio one are no way near as good as past line ups so to speak. maybe im just being nostalgic

Eurgh that is seriously not true. Mills is great - I think I'm liking him more than Moyles these days!

i do love mills's shows at the moment, but i have to agree that he is pretty much the same as local station djs. hes not different from them in any way. whereas moyles is stupid and takes the pis out of people. he doesnt hold back. if he doesnt like someone he says so, be it a caller, work colleague or even his boss, thats the thing that gets you listening to chris and thats what keeps you listening. you gotta love some of his rants. you dont hear scott milss going mental at a caller for bein thick. thats the difference, thats why chris is so good.

That's what makes him good IMO. He's nowhere near as famous as Chris, he's just an ordinary bloke, down to earth, and a good laugh. Someone you wouldn't be afraid to go and chat to in the pub.

Even I can now actually stand to listen to him in relatively large doses now, as long as Chappers is on too.... yes, me, the original Mills hater of the board.

Still no Moyles, but better than JK n Joel and Vernon IMO.
