not really. the option of paid vs. illegal downloads seems like it could be a simple either or situation.

Surely then, the same percentage is going to record companies as it is if you buy their album on cd though? (Granted Legal Downloads are Cheaper).

But with the stranglehold these companies have on their market, any real protests are going to fall on deaf ears.

sadly. however at least they have finally caught on to downloads for quite cheap prices. The other option of course is importing CDs and DVDs which can work out about the same cost with shipping, but usually works out cheaper as far as I'm aware. I originally tried to get ITunes via the wrong site, and when I worked out the price of an album, guess what, it was cheaper on the foreign version that I wasn't allowed to down load (would have worked out around £5-6 an album rather than £8-9).

that said, even at that price it's cheaper than we are used to for a new album.
