That's right. Although the killing/hurting people is a part of it, the real effect of Terrorism is the threat of it, and if we go around over-protecting ourselves that are lives are so radically changed its no longer practical then they have achieved their goal.

from what i've heard, in the less affected areas life is trying to go on. that really makes me hopefull. i know all of america shut down after 9-11, but americans are prone to the mass "why me..." panic attack in general.

this is how you adversite northern ireland? it must be a wasteland. i should talk to the cataloger at work- he's irish and lived outside of belfast for 5 years in the 70s. i'm sure "it has a kfc" would make him chuckle.

When your country is attacked like this I think people are more than entitled to be shocked and saddened. While you are right that going on about it doesn't help, you can't just brush it under the carpet like it never happened.. especially on the day it took place.
