is it just me that likes the fact people are putting pieces of art and stuff in towns and cities these days? even if its sh*te at least it is an effort to make places more interesting.

This is the 'art' in question:-



It cost £50,000, its only 11 metal bars all welded together. In my opinion it was a complete waste of money. Also, although you can't see it too well in the picture, the colour of the metal bars is a horrible moss green making it look like its covered in mould all yeay round, lovely!

I don't know of anyone in the town that likes it, infact when people first heard about it there was a petition set-up to stop the Heritage Foundation wasting the large sum of money they paiid the artist for it. They promptly ignored over one thousand signitures and did what they wanted anyway though.
