I think that's part of the reason I watched some of the cricket - it wasn't football. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy watching the odd game but football is over-exposed (as I am sure I have said before).

im not sure if football would be the most popular sport in the world. its very popular in europe and south america, but other sports like baseball and basket ball are big in usa and asia. cricket is a big sport in a lot of places as well.

for people participating:

Volleyball (998 million)
Basketball (400 million)
Table Tennis (300 million)
Soccer (242 million)
Badminton (200 million)

its hard to find a website with the answers to what is the most popular sport in then world.

Ha, very funny - they had to interview his wife instead of him on Five Live this morning because he couldn't stop slurring his words.
