Yes, but it would mean increased bandwidth for the cm.co.uk servers.

As a lot of people link to images offsite, which means that the picture can be changed at anytime without updating anything in the profile, it would require the board to download and check the dimensions of the avatar/sig on every page load, which would be alot of times.

Yeah, but when I changed my avatar I didn't got to the profile settings at all, I just updated the image on my site, although a script could be implemented on the profile side of things for when people change their avatar therem to check the size, shouldn't be too hard actually.

btw Anyone with firefox can simply block the image by right clicking on it and going to the "Block images from" option.
