Hardly useful since I've only been a member since September this year.

and when I asked for a sound clip, I meant the whole thing, the thing on air at the time of Dave pulling the plug and the reaction afterwards, surely they had to explain the silence,.

well i doubt many people were recording simon mayo's show when it happened.

and as for a clip of chris discussing it, as david has said it has had some infrequent mentions over the years since the incident occoured.

yes it would have gone on to the emergency tape, it wasnt that long ago, about 1998 at a guess?

Wonder what they would of done years back when Radio 1 started? Just switch on the studio that Peel was messing about in and leave it on becuase it's better than Tony Blackburn?

As far as I know there isn't a clip of this, but all it would be is Simon talking and suddenly stopping, followed by silence until the emergency tape kicked in.

Remember once when the Emergency Tape kicked off in the middle of Gilles Peterson. Sounded really weird when the Sugarbabes kicked off in the middle of "Gerbats SOUND XVI 100" or something...

I really wish there was a clip of the Mayo/Vitty Emergency Tape thing! I have never actually heard an Emergency Tape kick-in on-Air before!
