I would assume it influenced more by Blockbusters than Karl Pilkington's Rockbusters (which is one hell of a dodgy game by the way), which was also influenced by Blockbusters.

Strangely enough Carpark Catchphrase is based on Catchphrase a show hosted by Roy Walker (or was).

Beep Beep Busters is based on Blockbusters, another show in the UK.
