Second, the BBC have three (or is it four) gateway IP's that they use, so anyone logging on from the BBC will have one of these IP addresses. That is 100% definitive, but it would cut out most of the posers.
I don't know really the difference between the IPs but from what I presume there is one gateway that comes from the studio which usually shows them apart from the other BBC sections. Although of course then that's messed up when they move to Radio 2 or whatever.

Actually, I think that all the connections from the entire BBC network use all three (or four) gateways, and use a random one for each request, as opposed to using a single one.
