The news is on the homepage. Moyles is up for The Entertainment Award, against Chris Evans and Jonathan Ross (Radio 2), Danny Baker (BBC London 94.9) and The Ugly Phil Breakfast Show (Kerrang 105.2 West Midlands).

No, it's simple a combination of the words iPod and Broadcast, like webcast is a combination of Web and Broadcast.

The word podcast is misleading, a podcast is merely an MP3 file sitting on a server somewhere. There is no broadcasting involved and there doesn't necessarily have to be any iPods involved.

It does seem stupid, but the reason is because 'podcasting' was made famous by the iPod, despite the fact that the technology had been around for years.
