What's the point if Sky HD isn't even out for a month or so. We've only just recenty gone Widescreen, so I think HDTV in my home will be years off

The adverts for this are stupid, they are trying to show you the brilliance of pictures you can get on HDTV - but if you can get pictures that good on a normal TV, why switch?!

I don't see the point in it at all, and paying that much for a TV is just ridiculous when they will come down in price in a few years. Maybe then they will actually be worth it.

I don't really watch enough TV to justify a big expense like that. I'd much rather keep my normal tv and go on a nice holiday if I had that kind of money.

We have one, the difference with the picture just on normal definition is so much improved and i've seen HD in action, it's superb. It's the same argument as every new technology, its expensive, not much content but people will invest in it.

The World Cup in HD will be fantastic, looking forward to it.

Its amazing, believe me. Its like your looking at things as if you were there, not through a camera lens.

The ones they have set up in currys aren't setup how people will have them in their home, plus they are usually running demo stuff. You'll notice the difference when you see a programme you have seen or are used to watching in standard definition.

I remember when we first got Sky Digital, when you used to pay £200 for the box.. It seemed amazing at the time, I guess it must be the same.

they're nice but expensive as hell. also, a lot of cable and sattelite companies aren't actually delivering a full HDTV signal, so it's mildly pointless in many cases.

Exactly, what's the point in shelling out all that cash for limited content. The sensible thing to do is to wait until companies broadcast HD signals as standard and by then the prices of sets will have come down in price..

You could say the same abot something like Broadband, but then people would be waiting still for that to come free like dialup is.

I doubt it'll ever come to Freeview (HD signals) well not as an extra option anyway. So that's going to make it a bit limited
