Clumpy ya tit - of course HE raised it. If he hadn't done the swim there wouldn't have been that sum of money. Think before you post!

His fame raised the money, anyone who thinks otherwise has blinkers on. Swimming a mile isn't a big deal. I swam 100 lengths for polio when i was 12 years old. It's only because he is on the Radio that he receives all the praise. I'm not asking for praise for myself, just for the rest of you to open your eyes a bit and stop praising celebrities who do silly little things. There are people out there who give up their lives to help others for virtually no praise so maybe you should all take a look at yourselves.

When I apply for Mother Theresa's old job I'll let you know, for now I did what I could to be the catalyst to raise some money for Sport Relief. I'm fully aware it was a team effort, all 144 swimmers that swam contributed and behind the scenes a lot of other people made it possible. As my thank you list show: http://www.aledhaydnjones.com/pics/swimming

It's impossible to include everyone, everytime I tell someone how much money was raised so I object to you splitting hairs over termology. Of course it's because on Radio 1. Has anyone tried to argue against that? You can choose to use the fact that you have the might of Radio 1 behind you to raise money or not. Doing so doesn't take away from how proud I am of what we've done.

I think it's downright rude to take away from someone's achievements regardless of celebrity status etc. I'd hardly call Aled a celebrity anyway, more a radio personality (sorry Aled but I'm sure you agree with me! Hardly Heat magazine paparazzi hunted yet are ya ;) )

I think it's great that he raised so much money thanks to the show but even if he'd raised 50 quid that's probably 50 more than myself and countless other people will be raising this year. Also for someone that couldn't even swim a few months ago that's pretty impressive.

I probably look like a brown noser now but I just feel annoyed when people split hairs when the only outcome has been raising money for good causes. Where's the harm in that.

PS Quincy if you'd done it starkers I'd have doubled that amount, so long as there was picture evidence.
