I'm very bored.
10 reasons why I have fallen out of love with the show this last couple of years:
1. Being a lazy arsed student I am never really up to hear the majority of it anymore, thus not missing it when it isn't on (like this week).
2. Lack of genuinely brilliant spontaneous moments. I don't know why, there just hasn't been that many that stick in mind.
3. Lack of blatant sexism anymore, perhaps brought about by the fact the show is full of women (Rachel shut up and bring back Will).
4. Too many stupid ticket giveaways (82125) and not enough good new features/spoof trails/parodies.
5. Celebrity Tarzan and Rob DJ's f*cking Monday Night bloody pub quiz.
6. The jingles. I know we all loved them at the start, but are they really funny anymore? Some of the rhyming is rubbish and if you cut out the sung jingles, then thats more time to be chatting crap or playing music.
7. Reality TV. I used to like it, but now hate it with a vitriolic passion.. and Chris's show is the ultimate radio show for any fan of reality TV too - Big Brother/Love Island/X-Factor.. whatever.
8. The fact theres so many people on the show! I know it sounds corny but I used to feel like I was one of the "gang" whilst listening (cos even if there was a big production team they didnt really mention them much). Now theres like three or four producers, two or three BA's, the newsreader, sportreader, Dave and Chris. At least ten people.
9. His interviews. The majority are cringeworthy lets face it.
10. I think that Moyles is past his peak. Not in terms of popularity or anything, but in terms of the content he produces. He was at his best late 90's/early 00's - when he earned the fanbase he had/has, and when he was genuinely dangerous and cutting edge to listen to. You never knew what was coming next. A bit like Mills now. Mills is at his best now, but in the true way things go - no one at Radio 1 seems to get the breakfast show when they are at their peak (barring perhaps Chris Evans).
______
Ten Reasons why I am a contradictory bastard and will still be listening, despite what I say:
1. Dominic Byrne. The mans a genius.
2. Moments ala "Nic Nak Paddy Wok". Hysterically funny.
3. Because Chris is still not afraid to give his opinion and is the only DJ at that station who dares to say what he thinks and speak out about the sh*t on the playlist.
4. Dom's Jools Holland impression.
5. The fact Chris hates us lot, i.e the chrismoyles.net nerds/geeks/losers. None of that Scott Mills/Unofficial Mills love in. Just pure hatred. Brilliant.
6. Interviews like the Billie Piper one recently. When the guest clicks with Chris and Dave, it shows how good the other interviews could be.
7. The JK and Joel handovers.
8. The fact Chris is bound to be brilliant in the next few months, as he always is in the summer.
9. Get Dom On It.
10. If they read these comments and mention them on air, they will tell me to stick them up my arse and say who cares about my opinion. Which I love, cos they're right.
