Have you tried getting in touch with JVC themselfs? When I worked in Currys and TV's didnt have remotes, we could call up partmaster i think they were called, and send out a new one. Or, you could get one of them multi-purpose remotes.

I had one of those, but no matter how many times I put in new batteries, it still didn't work.
