The BBC is a non-profit organisation, they're not allowed to advertise private businesses, however everytime Longman was introduced he was touted as

Gas-man, well done on pointing out a channel that the BBC has other interests (albeit BBC worldwide), however I was more making the point that the BBC cannot advertise private companies in the UK, ....i.e. to the general viewer IT IS NOT ALLOWED TO ADVERTISE.
