How do you know its the same swan?

Yudyud..............how can you ask me that...... of course it's the same swan. It's like Demi Moore in Ghost, at first I couldn't believe it was him, but after a time I was in no doubt.

Baggie, why are you assuming it is a boy swan? I mean, it probably is, but what makes you so sure?

That doesn't apply to Mute Swans, which is what this would be. The other types - Whooper swans and Bewick swans (I've probably spelled both of those wrong) are the ones with the knobby beaks. Mute swans are the ones you see on ponds and canals and rivers around the place, the others are rare, and not likely to be found cruising up and down the Leeds and Liverpool Canal.
