Agreed - at school myself and my brother and sister had to be practically dying before we were allowed the day off and I've taken that into work life. If I am ever off sick (which I have been once since I left school in 2000 and probably two or three times during my entire time at school) it is for very good reason.

I very rarely do sick, not because I don't get sick, but being ill just doesn't fit in with other stuff! If Mr Yudster is ill, he just stays in bed - because he can. If I am sick, I still have to take Mr Yudster to the station to catch his train, take Miss Yudster to school and then take Baby Yudster to nursery - and nursery is 8 miles from home and 200 yards from work, so guess where I usually end up.

In all seriousness though Viv, if you are ok to go swimming, you should be at work - and if you were in my office, you'd be busy updating your CV about now! I'm going to go swimming tomorrow I think, my friend's pool is nice and warm already.....woo hoo!

Plus, Im not basing this on scientific fact that im aware of, but surely mixing illness and disease with a public swimming pool isn't a wise combo?

Absolutely - better to be snotty at your desk with a handful of kleenex at the ready than snotty in a swimming pool, with nothing to do but wash it away.....definitely going to my friends to swim, not the public one!

So the Pacific is closer to you than any swimming pool in Britain. You should go to the one near me, its brilliant. They have a slide and a spaceship thing that you just fall from.
