People kept on telling me that, all the while I was reading the Hobbit and the Lord of the Rings trilogy - I kept right on reading, hoping I would one day find out what they were all on about - never did! I even read The Silmarillion hoping it would be a revelation of his promised genius, but that was by far the worst of the lot! I'm not going to bother with Children of Hurin, although Mr Yudster will read that.

Nope. I almost saw the film cos I fancy the lad in it, but I decided it looked quite dull and wasn't worth it. I could always get it on dvd and skip the bits he's not in...

we just got satellite and "last king of scotland" is on all day! i might try to watch it if i stay awake long enough. i've just been watching cricket. finally! cricket all day!!!!!!

I ordered the DVD off play.com yesterday - deliberatly avoided the film till I read the book. The book was a bit tedious I felt but then I did spen the two months prior to that reading Harry Potter. I kept expecting the Ugandans to whip their wands out and show me some magic.*

The film is meant to be very good tho, so I'm looking forward to that.

*No innuendo please...
