Medically speaking though, all those that I have left in the list here at a glance could very possibly have been linked to steroid abuse - its known to cause depression and suicidal emotions, and here is a whole raft of evidence linking it to all sorts of cancers, particularly liver and kidney related diseases. I'm not saying that makes it a natural conclusion that all these people died from steroid abuse though.

Candido could have died from drug abuse since he and his girlfriend Tammy (Sunny for the old WWF fans) were known to be regular users of recreational drugs. But he didn't. He died from complications to surgery on his ankle after an accident in the ring.

Randy Anderson and Mark Curtis certainly didn't. Both worked as referees for a start, and both were pretty tiny guys, Curtis in particular.

Andre The Giant was going to die young anyway. He suffered from acromegaly (excessive growth hormone) which he didn't bother to try and fix, leading to a heart attack from his "growth hormone secreting pituitary tumor". The Big Show had the same illness but went for surgery to stop it. Andre also drank and ate rather excessively which did him no favours.

And Jay Youngblood died from a move gone wrong.

The rest of the names are possible to be bproducts of steroids or drug use, but I'd probably rule the above out.

I'd still question Candido - complications to surgery are always caused by something, and its often is the original condition of the patient which causes the problems, especially with anaesthesia. But your point was that the original article was trying to make ut that they all died from steroid abuse and that this is nonsense, and you're clearly correct in that. I'm just being pedantic.
