Did anybody watch that rather strange program at half nine ? IT crowd or something.
Jeeze, the canned laughter every 5 seconds for no apparent reason, made me cringe.
Mind you, it was a little better in the second half but still very strange.

Anybody see it ? your thoughts ?

It's not canned, it's filmed in front of an audience and such is genuine reaction. If the bits are filmed on location, then they are played back to the audience to get their reaction.

I watched a couple of the first eries but gave up cos I just wasn't finding it that funny. It raised the occasional smirk but that was all really. Noel Fielding was the best thing about it.

I didn't find it that funny, but I never found Father Ted that funny either. Some of the more geekish jokes are kinda amusing though.

A lot of shows do this but it's not half as obvious as in the IT crowd. They either enhanced the laughter or the audience are pumped up on some form of illegal drug before filming starts. They're in hysterics at the end of every sentence

I thought the first one was a bit ropey at best and now i see it again so either its being repeated or some dafty has commissioned series 2?

Sadly yes. I tried to watch this first time out but it just seemed to be trying too hard to be Red Dwarf to me. Also I thought i'd like it as Nick Frost is usually quite good in comedy, but not in this sadly.

Think the second series is being shown on thursdays at the moment?

I like the IT crowd, admittedly the first episode of the second series wasn't fantastic - mainly due to the fact of it missing a vital part of the show for the most of it - the IT office, sure they showed it a bit but not enough, I think if its to survive for a while longer it needs to get back to the geek references - oh and jokes like the face on the bottom of the mug

Agreed although I thought the one that he did send was a bit too formal haha

I've just thought of the emergency services new number bit - I think that could be my highlight

You sure its the second one? I remember the gag that horsey is talkin about and I dont think I have seen the second series.

I did, it was in the second episode. It's the one with the stress machine, and the Manager (Devlin?) comes downstaires to test Jen with the stress-machine and see's the fire behind the monitor, mistaking it for a screensaver.

Indeed. Friday's episode definately wasn't a patch on this. The whole "I'm disabled" thing was just lame... so to speak.

The second episode of the series has regained my belief in it, although it still needs improving so I'll look forward to the greatest episode ever at the end of the series
