But the fact remains that Ant and Dec are the only male (I know French and Saunders did it too, but its different for girls) comedy duo other than Morecambe and Wise who could get away with doing a sketch on early evening television which suggested that they habitually shared a bed, without it being in any way sexual.

Just remembered that I played pool with a satanist last night. Really should go out on a Friday more often.

Had a good night last night. We lost the pub quiz but had my hair plaited by a viking.

Depends what you mean by "got away with it" - there always seems to be some group or another putting pressure on Sesame Street to "regularise" Bert and Ernie. And also, footy - THEY'RE PUPPETS!!!!!!!!!!!!

Morecambe and Wise were even longer before Reeves and Mortimer though!

Morecambe and Wise weren't trying to be anyone; they were their own act.

Although, I'd compare Ant and Dec more closely to Reeves and Mortimer than Morecambe and Wise; I don't think Ant and Dec can reach the same popularity and status that Morecambe and Wise enjoyed.

I meant Reeves and Mortimer were too busy being the new Two Ronnies...

Vic and Bob were more Morecambe and Wise than the Two Ronnies.

I always thought the Two Ronnies (Barker in particular) was a very word based humour rather than a physical nature that the other two pairs definitely had.
