No, they haven't, I just checked today.

Another thing that used to do my head in about Hotmail was the fact they used to randomly make you type out practically illegible letters to make sure it was you, before they would let you in to your own account. I wrote and complained about it.

I have about four email addresses: I have one for my own domain; a Gmail one that my London PerlMongers and various other mailing list emails go to; a work one; and a Hotmail one, which (like Yudster) is only used for Messenger.

I never delete work emails; my work mailbox total 965MB in three years of employment (this includes sent and received emails, calendar items, tasks and notes.) The philosophy here is very much "cover your arse".

I did know that, but it's a mixture of the reason you stated and the fact I don't fancy signing any of my existing email addresses up for Microsoft's Passport service.
