Just wondering if you've ever tried Tablet? If you don't have a sweet tooth, stay away. My dear old mum normally will makes lots just before Haloween.

I did buy some tablet. I forgot about that. It was super sweet, melt in your mouth buttery fudge that was harder than the 2 boxes of whisky fudge I'd bought. My son was thrilled to be in the sweet shop and I was hungry. A bad combination. We just kept buying stuff -- including some delicious Sugar Mice. They come in pastel colours. Have you seen these? They're made in Crieff.

Yep, seen the mice before in various shops. Could they have been from this Crieff shop here: Gordon & Durward ? I've never spotted the shop when in Crieff. But they have plenty of sweets on their website.

That's the one! http://www.scottishsweets.co.uk. I bought them in Luss when I was there. I also bought some licorice all sorts but my son was not too thrilled w/those. The mice are good but that tablet was delicious! As, might I say, the whisky fudge was. I may order some. Tobermory and Mrs. Walker's Drumgray. Try them. They're delicious.

i like the stuff around the liquorice but not the actual liquorice..
not the beady things either. they're not nice.

See I steer clear of Liquorice Allsorts for three reasons: the name of the product contains "liquorice"; the stuff inside contains liquorice and therefore I don't like to go near the stuff; and it doesn't look very appetising to me. There are far better looking (and tasting) sweets out there.

Like Dolly Mixture. Like a kids' Liquorice Allsorts, but so much nicer.

I always think haggis is going to be too herby for me, I don't like a dominant herbal flavour to my food. But if it's more meaty and stuff, I may try it. You can get it in Sainsburys. I have to say I love the idea of it being used as a poultry stuffing - would you take the casing off first and just stuff the contents in, or whack the whole thing in casing and all?

Bonananananana is right, it is nice inside a chicken - you would take it out its casing first.

It's not herby at all. It's the easiest cooked food ever - the original boil in a bag.

Ha - reminded me of Moyles' McDonalds rant this morning, that was very funny. "I want a chicken sandwich!" I have had exactly the same problem (on the odd occasion I go McDonald's) in the past.

I guess I would recommend porridge. It is said that if you are truly Scottish, then you would add salt to the porridge, which I don't do, so clearly I am some kind of traitor.
