You should remember that gay people have heterosexuality "shoved in their face" so to speak every day, in all aspects of life. Society almost assumes that people are straight, so you can't blame gay people for wanting to redress the balance. Working in theatre almost all of my friends are gay and I myself bat for both teams (the term we like to use here is "half rice half chips" ), so this is a subject i care about.

In my experience, gay folk have as much choice in being gay as they do the size of their feet. Although I do agree that it's maybe not right that they shove being gay in your face.
