I'm loving the Kanye West/Chris Martin thing at the moment too. But then I think Kanye West is excellent - I normally hate that kind of music, but there's something very different about what he does. Liking Kanye West is one of my guilty secrets.

True it is all down to taste, and I respect your likings.

I just find Nickleback very very middle of the road.... not rock, not pop, not anything... just mundane. All their songs sound the same, the lead singer looks like Jesus, and I find the lyrics/melodies lazy and basic.

Same goes with Foo fighters.

It's Chad Kroeger, and the guy that played ZB was Sam Rockwell - I can't say that I've ever noticed a similarity between them.
