I've thought about reading the book, but I've never really got around to it.

Don't bother. No actually do bother, see if you can get further into it than me. The short sentences, rubbish narrative and second rate description made me throw it down after 3 chapters - surprised I got that far. (Yes I actually threw a book!)

well, i took it to heart just like you said to do. I really have no idea how forums work that much, fair enough i should of read the rules a bit more in depth but I did ask you all to take it easy on me, but the only person to be nice to me is yudster.

I get annoyed when they only read the one author just because he had one good story.

In Dan Brown's case, it wasn't even his idea (if we're talking about the Da Vinci code thing), the idea of christ having a child with Mary Magdalene and the catholic church covering it up is nothing new. At the start of the book, Brown sets out the following claim: “All descriptions of artwork, architecture, documents and secret rituals in this novel are accurate” which can be shown to be untrue with even the quickest of internet searches :

As for his writing style, I'm with S4B on this, it's simplistic and his characterisation is laughable : main character has claustrophobia in one book? No problem, magically cure him in the next with barely a mention.

Now Angels and Demons, that was one of the very best books I've ever read. I simply couldn't put it down and my tube journey seemed too short! I agree with everyone else regarding Da Vinci Code. I tried and tried and tried and in the end could quite happily of set the damn book on fire. Just piss poor, with the film being no better what so ever. Just hope the poor film doesn't stop Angels and Demons making it onto the big screen.

This thread has become so complex. Consoles, Will Smith, Dan Brown, WoW... it's all too much!

We got a PS3 because the processors and hardware are better than in XBox's. We also wanted Blu-Ray, but mostly it was for the processor.
Tom Hanks is almost as annoying to me as Will Smith, which makes me a crank.
Dan Brown writes utter pish, but he's earned the publishing industry loads of money. Thankfully, I never read his books nor do I ever have to come across them.
WoW is terrible because my cousin won't stop playing it and is now in trouble in school. Horde, duh!
