There was a cartoon series that was released by the BBC on the web called 'Scream of Shalka'. I haven't seen it, so I can't say what's in it - I don't think it's canon though.

I've just watched 'Scream of the Shalka' and it barely even mentions Time-lord regenerations, let alone talk about any loop-hole or 'get out of jail free card's. Can you ask your friend what is they think happens that confirms this Time-lord council enforced regeneration limit?

OK so I really enjoyed this week's episode but I am incredibly confused by the trail for next week's!! When did the Doctor have sex? Was there a triple X rated episode I missed about 16 years ago? Where did his daughter come from?

One problem with that Andy. If he hadn't done it yet then he wouldn't know about her and wouldn't know he had a daughter. Saying that I can't wait until next weeks episode to find out more about her. What does everyone think about her? Is she a time lord or part human...or part something else?

I do remember a daughter being mentioned, but I was always of the opinion that she was adopted, as opposed to being his actual daughter. I suppose that she'd have to be only half-Time-Lord (and, presumably, half-human) as otherwise it would violate the 'Last of the Time-Lords' rule.

It'll hopefully all be explained in the next episode, though, so we only have a week to wait.

Edit (just because I can): After a little bit of searching, I have discovered the means by which the Doctor has become a father, but I won't spoil it - suffice to say, it's not as generic as normal father-daughter relationships.

There was never any proof that Susan was his grand daughter! It was always generally accepted that that was just a convenient cover for a young girl to be travelling with an old man

Susan is the supposed grand-daughter of The Doctor. She appeared in the first and second series of Doctor Who, and was essentially a companion of The Doctor's. It's unclear as to whether she's actually related to The Doctor, or whether that was just part of the cover they had. Susan is definitely a non-human, but it hasn't been made clear as to whether she's a Time Lord or not, although if she is related to The Doctor then that would increase the chances that she is.

Ye's are all looking way too deep into this. It's Dr Who! They don't need an explanation. Not a rational one anyways. She will be from an alternate reality where the Doctor isn't a timelord but a normal human. Or she will have been cloned from cells of his skin from his jacket. Or she will be a dream.
