Does anyone know what the components of a sour sweet are? Is it Salt and Sugar or something?

Why would you eat a sweet which is sour? Sour is inherently unpleasant. Sweets are, by definition, sweet. Sour is a bad bad thing even when it is deemed appropriate - and sour is never appropriate for sweets.

Does anyone know what the components of a sour sweet are? Is it Salt and Sugar or something?

Normally the use citric acid for the sourness, this lowers the Ph of the product, traditionally sugar is the antidote to the citric acid sourness in fruit, and hence sweets were fruit with sugar added to make them palateable, oddly now you get sweets where they add the citric acid to make them sour.

They're not sour and to be honest, they're not very fizzy. They're quite nice though, so they can be excused. The sour Chewits are quite nice and also the sour Skittles.

Ahem, for anyone who can't read my Facebook update... I stayed at my mum's last night so I could have a drink or few in the pub while watching the football. The front door is always locked and everyone uses the backdoor, so coming back we tried to unlock said backdoor, but my useless bastard of a brother had left the key in on the inside (something he is still denying). I decided (in my intoxicated state) to clamber on to the oil tank, over the disused outdoor toilet and on to the "lobby" (small room at the back of the house with no floor above it) roof, from which I could reach in the small window of my sister's old room and open the larger window. Unfortunately, while being larger, it didn't offer an abundance of space to get through, but I somehow managed to haul myself through it (by which time my mum had woken my brother up by throwing stones at the window and he had come downstairs to open the door anyway).

It's still making me laugh, although I mistook Lianne for Mrs Topher (who of course is called Sarah) so I assumed you'd been on a midnight mission.
