By hardware related, I meant drivers relating to hardware. Probably not very clear. Components failing such as memory could also be a cause. If in doubt google the error code.

I can get onto the menu thing where you choose safe mode, but then when it loads I still get the blue screen. Erm, not a clue how much memory I have, and no I don't have my disk with me.

If you were running particularly low on hard-drive space (<500MB) then that would probably be the cause of the problem. If you do manage to get a Windows CD, go into it's recovery console and type 'dir' (no quotes) and it should tell you how much free space is available. If it's less than 536,870,912 Bytes then you'll need to clear some space to get it working again. If you get to that stage, PM me and I'll see if I can help you remove some stuff.
