What is unique about this weekends F1 Race.

Is it just me who doesn't see the point of this? (Have I mentioned this on here before? I can't remember.) In this day and age when everyone is worried about global warming, what is the point of waiting until it's dark and lighting the track to daylight?! Lighting over three miles of track is going to take some energy.

I can understand night races in GT and touring car races, where the cars have headlights, but F1 cars don't have them. * lunacy.

Although I do see your point, surely you could argue, whats the point in going out at night at all, sleep at home in your bed when it gets dark, don't go out walking on the streets as you don't have headlights fitted, even if you have a torch you don't need one in Town as the twats put up lights all along the side of the road and pavement. Don't sit in Pubs, go swimming, shopping or play five a side on a flood lit pitch, do all that during the day, doing it at night well, it's * lunacy.

I don't see your point to be honest. People have to go out at night sometimes, they don't have to have a Formula One race at night. I can see why they've done it, for the publicity, but what's the point of waiting until dark and lighting the track to daylight? Just have it in the day. Football matches, when the prime time to watch is in the evening, so they need to floodlight the pitch - that's a different thing entirely.

I must admit I kind of agree. I dont give a toss about my carbon foot print or anyone else's for that matter, but I just keep thinking what's the point? I suppose there is an extra skill or two involved in driving at 200mph in the dark, but there'll be more flood lights than you can shake a stick at. Not too sure why you'd want to shake a stick at them though.....

Normally if you are an old man and children are a scampering around near by is cause enough for stick waving, or even foots willy waving.

Willy waving is most often demonstrated when one person knows or cares too much about a subject. For example, if a new member comes in and says that they are really good at table tennis and could likely beat anyone on the forum, then another certain member is likely to start waving his table tennis willy about.

If the same happened with books, we would have a whole different person waving her willy.

I waved my financial willy the other day myself actually. (When talking about financial willies, you need to understand the difference between a willy waver and a willy waiver. This can be crucial, especially at meetings.)
