Wouldn't it be nice if they stop screwing the Diesel users and get it back to within a couple of pence of Petrol like it used to be? 92.9 is lovely, but right underneath it you can still see 106.9. 14p a litre a difference?!

It went up a lot more than unleaded, and it hasn't dropped as much - I think thats the point.

But it if went up more, then for it to drop at the same rate it would inevitably not drop as much, example :

Month ago : Diesel 118.9
Unleaded 107.9

Minus 10%

Now : Diesel 107.01
Unleaded 97.11

There's only a couple percent in it.

But the point is that it went up more - for no reason thats been explained. I would like to know why the increase on diesel was so much higher than on unleaded.

Fair enough, i thought it was because diesel users were easier to exploit as a majority are truckers etc and need the fuel for work, so cutting their supply a bit would ensure the demand to go up - driving the price up more easily than in the unleaded community.

I also thought that diesel was more economical than petrol therefore you pay more but it lasts longer so we all end up paying the same......

It's true, it's about 20% more efficient, but diesel cars cost more in tax.

It's supposed to be better for your engine, but it's a * con. It's like buying Heinz or Tesco baked beans - cover the label up and no one can tell the difference.

Absolute waste of money, unless the engine management system can identify the higher octane/higher quality fuel. People say they get a smoother ride using super unleaded, as the fuel burns more efficiently, but it's probably all in the mind in my opinion.

If you have a car that takes unleaded, you can use either normal unleaded, premium unleaded or a mixture of the two.

Just don't put diesel in it.
