Not annoying but upsetting. Getting a call from the hospital at 4am and having to rush there to see my grandad really struggling. The doctor said he was literally 30 seconds away from stopping breathing when he got there. They put the NIV mask on him but then he refused it so he is now just on oxygen. They have stopped taking his blood to check his gases so we don't know if he is getting better or worse, just waiting to see if he pulls through as the next 24 hours are critical and anything could happen at any minute. Worst of all is seeing your family so upset, it is so emotionally draining when you leave the ward and have a good cry and then clean yourself up and go back in with a brave face telling him he will be fine when actually he isn't fine and probably won't even come out of hospital again. My uncle just had a daughter 4 days ago and my grandad most probably will never meet her, Lydia will not remember him. It makes me sad but privileged at the same time to have known him and known what a great person he was with a wicked but hilarious character.
I need to get a blog...
