Almost 3 years ago I went away for a month to Guatemala and Belize with a group from school. When I got back I made a video as a souvenir to everyone involved and to show people what we got up to. I've made one video like that in my life, and I got an email from the company World Challenge, who took me and run hundreds of expeditions each year, to ask if they could use my video at their national conference!

That was beautiful. I liked the Kuxpemech section (especially the children) and Le Gran Plaza at Tikal and Arcas Animal Sanctuary. Fantastic job. Congratulations!

Judy Wallman is a professional genealogy researcher in southern California .

Recently, whilst doing some personal work on her own family tree, she discovered that Harry Reid's great-great uncle, Remus Reid, was hanged for horse stealing and train robbery in Montana in 1889.

Harry Reid is the Democratic Leader of the US Senate. Both Judy and Harry Reid share Remus Reid as a common ancestor.

The only known photograph of Remus shows him standing on the gallows in Montana territory.


On the back of the picture Judy obtained during her research is the inscription:

'Remus Reid, horse thief, sent to Montana Territorial Prison 1885, escaped 1887, robbed the Montana Flyer six times. Caught by Pinkerton detectives, convicted and hanged in 1889.'

So Judy recently e-mailed Congressman Harry Reid for information about their great-great uncle.

Believe it or not, Harry Reid's staff sent back the following biographical sketch for her genealogy research
