I'm not sure if its been mentioned earlier in the thread (apologies if it has) but I have to say I do admire David Beckham, even though I'm not really a football fan. In this day and age where footballers and their agents are all moneys grabbing g*ts who head to whatever club will pay them the most, its so refreshing to read that because Beckham is so passionate about staying at AC Milan and having the chance to play for England in 2010 that he's financing a deal himself to stay on at AC Milan until the end of the season.

I have always been a great admirer of David Beckham, he learned from his mistakes and came back better than ever, and has been a consummate professional and an excellent role model for any youngster wanting to get into the game.

Liverpool were absolutely fantastic. I am so chuffed for them, they were all over sorry Real Madrid and deserved possibly their greatest win this season!

Also, Bayern Munich set a new knockout stage record by beating Sporting Lisbon 12-1 on aggregate. Wish I could have seen that game!

We scraped a win at home last night, I am happy, honestly, but we really should be more comfortable with our home games, especially against sides that are way down in the table. We really can't get used to this new ground it seems........

Yay, trips to Perth next season!

Oh hang on, I'm giving up my season ticket cos we're dire to watch and have no ambition whatsoever. Never mind then.

Champions League was awesome last night. I watched the first half of the Chelsea game, and the second half of the Villarreal game. Then got the highlights of the other two later on. Good to see Bayern proving my point that getting to the last 16 of the Champions League is not an achievement...

My favourite bit of last night was the giant inexplicable "*" banner in Greece. I've got the Fast Show stuck in my head now because of that.

What is it with our home form? We'd have beaten Crewe at their place, I bet you - but at home, we really struggle. I shouldn't complain, before Christmas we looked odds on for relegation, I reckon thats off the table now so I shouldn't moan.

Right, I've seen the future and this is what will happen on the 24th of May.

Liverpool, 1 point behind leaders Manchester United, will be leading Spurs by one goal to nil while United are being held to a goalless draw at Hull. The 90th minute ticks by and a rash challenge by Carragher on Lennon means Spurs have a penalty....You KNOW who'll take it....

That apart, what a thoroughly ACE weekend of football.

I can't be bothered to go back and look for it, but weeks and weeks ago, when United first pulled out their lead and everyone was "oh well, its over" - I said don't be so sure, there's still a long way to go. Told you so.

I suppose i should be happy with a draw away at the league leaders, but - oh damn, it, I am pleased.

There was something fun about watching us beat Rangers in the Co-op Cup final last weekend, then leaving the pub and having the Empire State building in front of me. Oh well, back to being pish in the league this weekend though. For both of us.

I've an idea. How about the winner of the Premiership gets that title and the runner up can have the SPL title? We clearly don't want it up here.

The Co-op cup is the most rubbish name for a trophy since we had the Rumbelows cup in England.
