So, the topic about ipods has got me onto thinking about my various OCD-like habits. These are my main ones:
*I'm not particularly tidy in general, but I am fanatical about the order of my cds, dvds etc. Everything is strictly alphabetised. If I see one out of place I can't rest til I've put it right. Same with my mp3 player - everything is ordered in a particular way, which probably nobody else would understand, but if I spot an anomaly I have to put it right as soon as I get home.
*I'm weird about odd numbers. Say I was eating a box of chocs or something, I can't leave an odd number in the box. Although for some reason 5 is the exception and would be okay to me. If I was with someone in a car, I don't like parking on odd numbered levels of a car park either. I hate odd numbered prices in shops and when I read back customers' booking references to them, certain sequences of numbers bother me.
*I eat in order, usually leaving my favourite thing til last, and I eat Skittles etc in colour order.
It's not that I feel bad things will happen if I don't do stuff like this - it just makes me feel better, and calmer, when I do. My bro, who is a teacher, thought this hilarious recently and told me I have Asperger's syndrome. But I think everyone does these things to some degree or another. So who else has OCD and what form does it take? Fess up, people.
