i just find black a boring colour font so i thought id use a colour font other than black instead because i find it more interesting and to a certain extent, nice. i mean, why include the colour font option if its never going to be used?

It can be used for emphasis, or to clarify a point, but using it constantly is annoying. It's pretty much like many of the other font options - like bold, italic, underline and font-size - they can be used occasionally and everything is fine, but overuse them and terrible things will happen.

Don't worry about it, if colours aren't 'supposed' to be used then there shouldnt be an option to use them.

Don't worry about it, if colours aren't 'supposed' to be used then there shouldnt be an option to use them.

They are supposed to be used, that doesn't mean you should use them constantly. Why not also make the font-size huge, and make it bold, italic and underlined? Hell, you have the option to post images, so why not write all your posts as animated images and have flashing backgrounds to draw a little more attention to your post?

and big bold signatures that stand out dont draw attention eh

A good point, except that the board allows us to turn off the displaying of signatures (like I have), it doesn't allow us to selectively disable the overuse of colour.
