Agreed Tofu, but Boboff has a point. There's one new song in particular that is just them trying to be Queen. I still like it though, not as bad an album as I was expecting.

Muse are better than the Darkness, agreed. Muse are one of those bands you never really think you like, but when you hear the montage's they put on recently you kind of go, "oh yeah, I quite like these"

They're the I almost downloaded this from I-tunes type band.

I think I probably prefer their older stuff but some of the new album is pretty good, but you're damn right, you have to give it a couple of listens! But overall, Muse are great.

Also making me smile today: dunno if anyone else has noticed this or if its been mentioned on here before, but when listening to the show on 'listen again', I noticed that the sound guage goes up to 11. A-mazing.

There's only one song on the new album that sounds like Queen, and within that song there are only parts of it that sound like Queen (whereas the rest sounds very much like Muse). I don't get why so many people are latching onto that and declaring "Muse have become Queen".

I must admit though, it hasn't impressed me as much as Black Holes & Revelations did.

Isn't it just a lot of wailing? I mean a constant anthemic wail with a wall-of-sound backdrop. This is what I find of their released singles which put me off digging deeper.

Oh, I watched this last night and it was hilarious. I couldn't help feeling guilty about some of the parts I laughed at, but it was brilliantly done. As Chris said this morning, the pisstakes were not malicious and it did end up something akin to a genuine tribute.

Neither. He does it for comedy effect.

Sometimes he does, but I have the horribly depressing feeling that all that nonsense about the cookies and the "blender" (which was a hand whisk, and also totally unnecessary for making cookies) and the "how is it cheaper to cook at home" stupidity was actually genuine. If he didn't have a job which paid enough to support a lifestyle where you never eat in I don't think he would survive - but the really sad thing is that he doesn't seem to realise it! Bless him though, at least he tried! I reckon they should send Jamie Oliver round to sort him out like he did Chris.

I've had a very productive cooking weekend. I made american pancakes for the first time and ate bacon and pancakes together for the first time. I also made my own bread for the first time and soon I will make a victoria sponge cake and later pizza dough for tonights dinner.

Try it with maple syrup - good quality maple syrup so there's a distinct flavour as well as it just being sweet, not like the stuff they flog in McDonalds. Its an unexpected taste sensation dontcha know?
