The place where everyone hangs out, chats, gossips, and argues

My first monday night in for a fair few weeks and i thought I'd check out the BBC2 comedy. What a bloody dissapointment! "Dead Ringers" was on first and IMO was a very poor impression show with jokes stolen (or just already told) by every other satirical show out there. Plus the canned laughter was well over the top and far too loud (why do they put that on?) think I smiled once throughout the show.

Following that was TLC, a poor scrubs rip-off. Another one with no laughter from me (at least there wasn't canned laughter this time). All I can say is thank god for Alan partridge!

BBC Comedy used to be so good, why has it gone so downhill? Someone please point me towards some good comedy or I shall be converted to the darkside of ITV and 2DTV (which is cracking!).

Oh and anyone know why TV companies feel it necessary to shove canned laughter over everything? I think it ruined the league of gentlemen, its really patronising, telling us when to laugh!

Yeah I agree the BBC has gone downhill with its comedies. Although UK GOLD has loads of good programs especially on a thursday, but many people don't like UK GOLD because it has loads of adverts.

Dead Ringers is excellent. It wasnt as good this Monday as it has been on previous Monday's but it is still really good. Can't say I want to watch TLC due to the small snippits I have seen while waiting for Alan Partridge to come on. Alan Partridge... only four words to describe that... BACK OF THE NET!

2DTV - by far the best show on telly at the moment. Funniest are the George Bush sketches, have me rolling about in laughter. Alan Partridge is also great, last one next week though. :(

Yes, 2DTV and Alan Pertridge are great. I was a late starter with Partridge.

Another good BBC comedy (I think) is My Family, very funny, I think it's on tomorrow!

Comedy is not daring enough, Radio 1 needs Blue Jam. I liked Big Train, goodness gracious me, we are history etc

Yup Ad, My Family is class and severly underrated. Heat magazine seem to hate it, I dunno why.

Blue Jam - was that the one who had something to do with the Moyles committing suicide thing? I remember reading it on the web.

My Family is awful, it doesn't flow it's not like "Only fools and horses" where each line flows into each other and it has a sense of being real and this is happening to them. My family has them stopping and waiting for the next person to put in there line. Then again the acting is poor and makes it look tacky and obvious to whats comming.

The Office = Funny

Have I Got News For You = Funny

Alistar Mgowan = Dont Like Him

League Of Gentlemen = Funny, although the latest series was a little dissapointing

Two Pints Of Lager... = So unfunny.

Nick is my favourite character, just brilliant! And Ben compliments that with (like you said) great sarcasm! Love it!

I'm in agreement with Nablo here. I think The Office is my favorite comedy. Gareth and David are truly "Genius" characters because i have defo worked with a Gareth or a Brent and even a Chris Finch. Alan Partridge is also very funny even though i haven't seen a lot of the new series because of my working commitments.

I find My family, Deadringers, Alan Partridge (naturally) and even t.l.c. (the BBC2 comedy, not the tragic girl-band) funny.

Does this mean my humour input level has evolved to a higher dimension than most, allowing me to see the funnier side to even the worse jokes, or just that I should get out more?

Am I the only one who thinks Alan Partridge is overrated? My Family is absolutely hilarious, but Nick isn't in it as much these days which is bad. TLC is very good IMO, very dry humour. Wild West was one of the lamest attempts at comedy I've seen for ages. Linda Green ain't bad plus I find Lisa Tarbuck strangely attractive. Dead ringers is excellent too, especially when Jon goes on location.

Alan partridge is and has always been excellnt, right back from the radio 4 days. All I will say is that this series doesn't quite live up to I'm Alan Partridge series one but is still the best thing on by miles and is still excellent! Unmissable I'd say

dead ringers is crap because they repeat there own jokes again and again, like the news reader on the mobile phone or the newsnight reader saying song lyrics. The first episode was good but they didn't chang it at all. I am impressed with the fact that they take the piss out of stuff that happened a day or two before its shown.

Not keen on Dead Ringers. I think Big Impression is far better. Although 2DTV is pretty good as well.

Now you mention, I found Liza Tarbuck strangely attactive when she was on Big Breakfast. That worries me.
