There is something wrong with this so called fansite when some nasty, vindictive troll comes on here (EDIT: Dave Bedford) and routinely slates an integral member of the show because of some ridiculous, illogical agenda yet only gets rebuked for typing 'lol'.

Is this a fansite or is it not? Fans post constructive views, good or bad. They dont wage unhinged vendettas against crucial members of a show they claim to be fans of.

I am not a troll, I just honestly think Dave has passed his best and wouldn't be missed that much if he left. Speaking just as a forum member rather than a moderator, I personally think that people's views shouldn't be censored, cos once you start that where do you stop it? I don't know where you would draw that line. I think Dave Bedford is wrong on every count, but I still feel he should have the right to say what he thinks.

I was a massive of fan of Dave's until I started following him in Twitter where I guess his 'real' self comes out more. He's a bit of an arse tbh

I follow him on Twitter, and can't think of anything much he's ever tweeted that's come across as arsey. Do you have any examples of things he's said?

I'm nailing my colours firmly to the mast of of the' I really like Dave' flag, and in fact if push came to shove I think I would name him as my favourite current member of the team (with Will being my ultimate favourite). I've never been keen on the girls on the show apart from Lizzie, Dom is lovely but just doesn't register as a favourite with me for some reason, Chris irritates me a lot sometimes, and I've really gone off Aled over the years as his ego and fake stupidity have got more and more out of control.

But Dave has always been way up there in my affections over all the years I've been listening, and contrary to what a lot of people on here have said recently, I honestly haven't noticed him changing and becoming less funny, more miserable etc. lately at all. I'm really puzzled as to where those opinions could have come from, so if anyone could enlighten me a bit then that would be great!

And it was the rules I was criticising. I have done more than my fair share of criticising the show and the team, but I like to think I am constructive and that it is clear that I am a fan of the show. Does anyone here really think Dave Bedford is a fan?

It shouldnt necesarily be one single post that results in banning someone. In isolation I probably wouldnt ban Dave Bedford either, but after reading many of his posts it is clear he is not here to comment on the show. He is here to wage a vendetta against Dave, and on a fansite I dont want to read that.

Tbh Dave Bedford is a twat and yes this is a fansite and I agree with what you're saying but Chris has always just run this with little moderation and I personally like it that way. Who cares what one person thinks about Dave? We all know he's wrong.

I understand Travis Bickle's frustration but is he actually saying that DaveBedford shouldn't be allowed to be a member here? That I can't agree with. Although as I said, I totally get Travis's point, I just don't think it matters that much.

I also think I get where DevilsDuck is coming from, I have thought since his split with Jayne that he has changed, and not in a way that I particularly like, but I really would miss him if he went and I think he'll be fine again. He was great in the opening link today for instance where they were discussing the whole Twitter thing from yesterday. He absolutely loved it by the way Cat!

I make plenty of posts on this forum, which I enjoy reading. I have seen people with far bigger "agendas" about something or other and it goes unnoticed. But the fact I think Vitty brings nothing to the show hits a raw nerve with some people. Witness the kind of names I was called! Do other people get this when they express distaste with someone.

If they are as vitriolic as you, then yes they do. I refer you to Qwerty's post about Matt Fincham, for example. That led to Aled posting asking him to stop. Not only did he not stop, but he personally attacked anyone who asked him to. You won't be surprised to hear that the worst examples of this were deleted.
