Two cows standing in a field. One turns to the other and says "i'm awfully frightened about contracting that horrible mad cow's disease, how about you?". To which the other cow replied "* me! A talking cow."

Alright Tim, we get kids visiting here, you need to tone these down. I know you've censored the word, but that doesn't change the nature of the posts. Sorry to be a pain.

The 'haddock' bit reminded me of Marshall's Fish List in How I Met Your Mother :)

And as a parent myself Nic, I can assure you they hear FAR worse in the school play ground.... plus forum rules state over 16's only, no?

Although, not arguing, duly noted.

Dunno, but i'm always AMAZED listening to the kids out on the street, the $hit they sometimes come out with, and i'm talking like 8 or 9 year old, not even Teens....

I'm sure I wasn't like that, back in the day...! :)

It wasn't, but that's no reason to be part of the problem.

my 7 year old daughter came out with a word she says her friends used yesterday, safe to say I was shocked and she has been told never to use it again as its extremely naughty. I am shocked and astonished at what I see kids on the street saying and doing, guess I must just be getting old

They do, but they also state

No pornography (we get kids visiting)

So I'm erring on the side of caution.

Dunno if Tim has raided some awful joke book, but have to agree with Nic.

No idea if how Tim has typed them is how it shows on the forum. But this is not an invite to test.

tbf Nic they aren't that offensive and the ramble thread title says it may offend and with the swear filter the joke probably won't make sense anyway. And you didn't moan last week when everyone was using the word '*' repeatedly which is a lot worse.

Just cos I didn't post moaning, doesn't mean I didn't moan.

Indeed. For the record, if a poster has typed a word out in full and you have your swear filter switched on, it will just appear as a single asterisk. If you see something like 'p**s', that's the poster self-censoring, and will appear the same regardless of your filter option. So the right use of asterisks or other symbols can render a word visible and pretty obvious to anyone reading, even if they have their filter on (which is the default option).

(I keep my swear filter switched on so I can spot if anyone is trying to circumvent it and why - although it can be a pain when you're trying to write about people from the East End of London or the surname of the singer from Pulp.)
