Cute (although, obviously less cute than my own daughter - in my Op...!). :)

Apologies for voicing thoughts I clearly should learn to suppress and if I spoke out of turn, I didn't intend to be unpleasant in a thread which is designed for entirely the opposite.

Anyway, *cough* I had a Twitter reply from Kat Von D this evening! I was seriously excited. She's one of my heroines. Very happy.

My brothers birthday present turned up, it was a book & what made it even better was that the book was signed by one of the authors (for those interested it's a book called "So Paddy Got Up")

Our Chief Executive is sat in his office at 8 o clock in the morning with Christmas Carols on full blast. Bless him!

He does, but as I'm not supposed to start work until 9 he doesn't care. Actually as long as my productivity within the operation continues to be excellent, both in terms of quantity and quality, he doesn't care anyway.

That's one of the irritations of more 'old school' management - I have an office set-up at home, it's (approximately) a hundred times more conducive to actual output of work than it is to be say in a noisy, over heated, heavily trafficked, gossiping office.

Yet informing the project manager than I'm taking work home to do a couple of days where I can concentrate properly, is met with suspicion and awkwardness.

While titting about on the internet is fine, as long as I'm 'at my desk'.

I can't work at home. I don't have a specific space that I can put "work" in and shut myself off from "home", it might be easier if I could. However the brief period when I did work from home I hated it, mainly because it meant that I never felt as if I went home from work.

I know what you mean, I try and make sure the office area is only used for work stuff, so the moment I start slouching on the couch the connection's broken and I no longer feel at work. My commute to the kitchen to make a pot of coffee is much more relaxed than a 3.5 hour drive to Cambridge too :)
