Christian O'Connell will never pull in the amount of viewers that Moyles did. Was he actually axed or did he quit?

The Sun reports today that Chris Moyles is off his Live With ... TV chat show on five after just one series.

He will be replaced by DJ Christian O'Connell from alternative radio station Xfm.

Moylesy wants to concentrate on Radio 1 and plans to work on a new five show with former Virgin Radio boss Chris Evans.

The new-look Live With ... will return next month for an eight-week stint.

The announcment followed rumours that O'Connell was lining up to replace Moyles on Radio One.

To be honest i dont think the TV show was gr8 anyway, it didnt really show moyle's best qualities, i think he is much better on radio full stop.

The TV show was terrible and for those not able to get to a radio during the day perhaps painted the wrong picture of CM, that is, unfunny. I think its a very hard show to do actually, as its been done to death before with TFIF. I honestly think most people are fed up with the "get your audience to shout and scream and laugh hysterically at everything" when the actual material isn't very funny.

Yeah, it probably wasd going to fail whoever presented it. Sidla's right, the series will never do better with CC. Most people only watched because they were fans of Moyles, I know I did, and theres no way CC is as popular as CM. How about a TV show with Chris Moyles and Richard Bacon - the older, uglier (sort of!), less clean cut and ruder version of Ant and Dec. Might work.

I only watched it fo Moyles too. I won't bother watching it with Christian oconnell.

Most of you guilible automaton droids haven't even heard Christian O'Connell. Just because he has poured scourn on Chris Moyles you wont even watch anymore, i have had the priveledge of listening to Christian on Xfm for 6 months before i moved to MK and i still liten every once in a while on sky digital. Christian O'Connell is very funny and i for one will welcome Christian O'Connell to Ch5. I bet after Christian O'Connells ratings come in he will be thinking "The show has never recovered since Sidla and Sam the Hells Angel stopped watching". Unfortuanately Christians ratings wont be as high as Chris Moyles as he is a relatively unknown in the media world but maybe the show will be better. Just because Christian O'Connell doesn't like Chris Moyles it doesn't mean that i wont watch the show, how many people has Chris Moyles taken a disliking to and verbally berated them on live radio. Ricky Gervais and Johnny Vegas each share a disliking to Chris Moyles but i'm not gonna be gulible enough to not watch the Office or Shooting Stars because of it.
Maybe Christian O'Connell will become the self proclaimed "saviour of Channel 5" before his ratings start decreasing

That was half an hour on tv and how could you use that as the basis for comparing their chatshows? I'm not saying that Christian O'Connell is going to have better ratings or do a better show but i think Christian is capable of producing a better product. I'm just miffed because petty people wont give Christian O' Connell a chance because he has publicly slated Chris Moyles, i like Chris Moyles but i'm not gonna let a little thing like this ruin my judgement on another personality.
BTW while Chris Moyles radio ratings were dropping Christians have been rising for 2 years, and Mark Lammar didn't threaten Christian due to his unfunniness

I think its great news the show was awful and it can only be good for Moyles that it was cancelled. lets hope he puts more effort into his radio show. Never heard that christian bloke but hes an ugly git.....

Lasto, I never said that because Christian has slated Moyles I won't watch the show, all I said was the only appeal the show had for me was Chris, if it was someone else presenting, regardless who, I wouldn't have watched. As I said, I will watch one or two of this new series to see what its like as I don't know Christain O'Connell, but if its exactly the same formet then I doubt it will hold much interest for me. If it does than I will be the first person to hold my hands up and admit I like it. The reason I think it won't do aswell is because I think alot of people thought along the same lines as me, and like it or not, Chris has far more fans than this O'Connell bloke.

Chris Moyles does have more fans than Christian because he is on a nationwide radio station. Christian O'Connell just broadcasts to London on a station that plays better music and has better presenters and while M Moyles's listeners are decreasing at the same speed as his waistline Christian O'Connell ratings are getting higher. the reason this really pisses me off is that Sara Cox, Scott Mills, Jo Whiley and Colin Murray have all got decent tv exposure and in my opinion all of whom are crap. Now a decent radio dj gets a chance at a TV gig and eveyones like......."well i'm gonna stop watching now". The show will be the same format and i will be watching for a start because Christian has done great things with his breakfast show and i predict that live with Christian O'Connell will be very funny indeed. And judging by the success of the Xfm talent i think Chistian will be a hit in the future as will Zane Lowe. BTW Ricky Gervais and Steven Merchant, Tim Lovejoy, Helen Chamberlin and Dermot O'leary were Xfm djs befoe finding mainstream success.
