I was given a bag of chocolate money today, which I haven't had since I was a little kid. Now I'm sure that years ago the pictures on the side were 1p's, 2p's, £1 and white chocolate 5p's. If you look now they have Euros and - now this really is terrible - American dimes and cents on the side. Not a sign of HRH anywhere! Whats happening to this country? Pointless thread but this is not good, not good at all.

Well thats true, and they did taste very nice! I'm not against the Euro, just feel like the children of today are being robbed of their heritage. It's a crying shame, it is.

I'm going to expand on my previous comment as stating it's a bad idea and not explaining why is a bit stupid.

Basically, as we join Europe more and more of the decisions made by our government will be made by a centralised European government which can only be a bad thing - we do ok as we are, and have done for centuries. I'd rather know that the decsions affecting the country I live in are made in this country by politicians voted into power by residents of that country.

actually we dont do that well. we could do with 2 interest rates for a start, one for the south and another for the north. balance things out a bit. so something as big as europe is a poo idea.

And another thing, have you SEEN the Euro coins. The 20 and 10 Euro coins are fine, no problem with them, but all the smaller denominations of coin are the same shape and colour, and only vary very slightly in size. What good is that going to be when you're trying to count change and you're píssed?

I'm all for getting rid of the monarchy - they serve no purpose, spend shit loads of the tax payers money and basically all deserve to be put on a council estate and left to fend for themselves....

I still get the golden coins for Hanukah. My grandmother in Florida sends me a package every year with Vermont chocolate coins with the Hebrew writing on it. Always brings back good memories.
