Were you at a different show to me? I loved it! Much like the kareoke nights but with less singing.
I can't remember what comment you were on about - unless it was the obvious topic, perhaps pm me.

I won't say too much more as I don't want to give things away, but I also waited around a bit after & met Dom & Aled who it seems were heading straight for Glasgow. Pics to follow - maybe! They were both lovely as you'd expect. Apparently Chris left straight away so missed him

Sorry but, while I dont mind Kareoke nights in the pub, there is no way Im happy to pay £35 to listen to people sing songs badly (and that includes Aled, Dom and the woman for the band). Also lets not forget the Kareoke nights when the show was on was FREE.

I said to my girlfriend today that it just screamed of a cabaret night and most of the people at the front would have still got pissed and cheered if they had a wedding DJ up there, it was just not very well thought out, embarrassing at times and Chris seemed to find it hillarious he had got 2000 people to each pay £17.50

Went to the Glasgow show last night and thought it was really good!

Had a lot more radio show references etc than I was expecting after reading this topic. Well worth the ticket price in my opinion. Special mention to the guy who sang karaoke - really good and got the whole place singing along

I've got the feeling that as the tour goes on, it'll get better and adapt to feedback (as well as have more ore prepared stuff).

I was at the Glasgow show last night and hated it.

I'm a huge fan of Chris and his team, been listening since his afternoon shows. So I was hoping that all the reports so far were wrong or that it would improve if they were correct. But sadly it didn't. The show is just far to structured so therefore it just doesn't feel natural at all. You can tell all the lines between the three of them have been scripted so it just feels wrong.

They have sooooo much material they could have used from the show but they didn't. Apart from a voice over and Dom's part there wasn't much at all from the radio show used. Speaking of Dom's part, that was just uncomfortable to watch. Plus how annoying was it they just seem to refuse to sing Dominic the Donkey?

The most natural bit of the show in my view was the twitter part, without posting spoilers at least during that part it was a bit more ad-libbed as they couldn't really prepare for that.

Chris is an amazing DJ, with the way he can mix songs, talk over the intro and catch the start of the lyrics, jingles etc. Why was none of that in the show? He could have had a booth and done something to show off. He could have pretended to be a local radio DJ for the area that the tour is on and have some fun with that. But alas no they don't

Another missed opportunity was before the show started, why wasn't Aled DJ'ing? Instead of just having some random CD on Aled could have been DJ'ing to build the crowd up as he has done on some of their radio tours. Just seemed like an ideal position but was wasted.

I really do hope it improves for the rest of you who haven't seen it, but I wouldn't hold my breath.

Long time lurker, first time poster. Well I went to the show in Bournemouth on Friday, having read the feedback on here. I thought it was good, not brilliant, but I'm glad my expectations were lowered before I went. It did reference some of the breakfast shows material and the band and music broke the show up a bit and gave it more energy. Although some people would have been happy to watch them just do a normal radio show akin to the red button stuff then I don't think that would have worked very well on the stage and would have been quite boring. Yes they could have put a bit more effort into writing it and you could accuse them of cashing in but so what, it was only £20 and I've been listening to them for free for 8 years! For me I'd have liked a rendition of Dominick the Donkey given R1 have deprived us of our xmas build up this year and Dom to have done "Don't call me baldy" but I expect there may have been some rights issues esp. if Dave had written the lyrics. So I think some reviewers are being a bit harsh but maybe its due to not quite knowing what to expect from a touring ex-breakfast show team.

Oh and no thanks go to the drunk idiots in front of me, talking loudly at various points and putting your huge galaxy note in my line of sight to record stuff. Grrrr

Well they won't be exactly the same but 90% will be. This is the rule of touring, you create a set/show and then stick to it. This is what bands and comedians do and I don't see why it would be any different for this show.

I'm proud to say that this was me. Cheers. I listened to the show throughout my childhood. In many ways, as a 20-year-old, I saw the end of the breakfast show as the end of my childhood. And to be a part of last night's show topped everything off. It was brilliant.

I do & don't understand the comparisons to the radio show. They aren't doing the radio show anymore, why try & recreate it? It's over! Yes a few things are in to keep the public happy. I think perhaps they're trying to bridge the gap, although I can't work out what to - all will be revealed I suppose!

Out of interest, how long before the show have people been going down, how long have you been cueing outside the venue for? I want to try and get the best view I can, but would rather not be hanging around if I can help it!

Mine was an O2 venue, so I got in through the priority queue (you get it just for being on O2) and was around 10-15 feet from the stage.

I went to the venue about 7.15pm, show started around 8.15pm.
