The death rate applies to cases where the neuropathy affects the chest and diaphragm muscles, making breathing impossible without a respirator. As he has been diagnosed WAAAAAY before this stage, he should be absolutely fine Nic. If the immunoglobulin doesn't work they will try plasmapheresis - one way or another he will get better.

Yeah, I'm hoping so. A so-called friend of ours posted a lengthy and horrific tale about her own lumbar puncture on his status, which succeeded in freaking both him and me out. God knows why she thought that was an appropriate thing to say to someone in hospital alone and scared.

I was a clinical haematologist but I spent time working in all laboratory aspects of clinical pathology. And the NHS was in dire straits then - but not quite hanging by a thread in the way it is now.

I'm very frustrated by the price of theatre tickets. I'm trying to find a show suitable for a 4 year old and a 7 year old and it pretty much comes down to Lion King, Shrek or Walking with Dinosaurs. All of them are between £35 and £100 a ticket! I'm not paying that kind of money for 4 people. It's a disgrace.
Second option was to see a pantomime locally in Woking starring Stephen Mulhern and Ashleigh and Pudsey. Decent seats are £30 plus. I wouldn't mind so much if the adults were £30 an the kids were heavily discounted but its the same price for kids too.

See, in my job, although technically nothing to do with clinicians and the such like, due to the nature of buildings I design (hostipals) I obviously have a large interest in this sorta shiz and often end up in meetings with a whole host of medi-types. I love my job. To go see a brand spanking new hostipal all shiney and ready for use, that I've designed key areas of (especially Theatres n stuff) - it fills me with pride.

Last year we went to this showing of the Snowman (http://www.london-theatreland.co.uk/the ... nowman.php) thinking it would be a lovely musical, orchestral interpretation.

While it wasn't that - it WAS suitable for kids, and quite well done. Tickets were around £15 for us, and it's on this year!

I've weighed up the options and gone for the Panto starring Stephen Mulhern and Ashleigh and Pudsey. When taking the train fare costs to get to London in to consideration it works out much cheaper. The price is still ridiculous though and its a good thing I fancy Pudsey or I would not be paying it.

Thanks Misfit He's on his third dose of IV immunoglobulins but is having a lot of side effects and is very weak. He told me that he almost cried last night cos he couldn't get a chocolate bar wrapper open I am worried about how he's gonna manage alone when he comes out of hospital, cos the chances of me getting any time off at our busiest time of the year are slim to none, and he has no family to speak of to look after him. But generally I feel a lot better about things.

Annoying me today????


Well I starts cleaning up and takes the compost out the garden, comes in get the Hoover and starts a vacuuming in the front room, all going nicely till I sees mud on the hoover hose, I clean it off and it smell of shit, I check my shoes and there is a leaf and some mud stuck on it, I cleans that off and it smell of shit, oh my I says, thats shit, so i look back at my carpet and there are splots of shit all over it, I burned the cloth in the fire and went outside to clean my shoes off, noticing as I went back to the back door lots of splodges of shit on the floor, I was a bit annoyed. So outside I am cleaning off my shoes, and notice some toilet paper around the man hole, a sure sign I got a blockage in me septic regions. Turns out I was right, I got a house full of shit splodges and a patio covered in shit, and a septic tank full to burstin of shit, tampax and fat deposits!

Anyway, 3 hours later the tank is flowing well, and I am just about to mop up the last of the shit on the floor.

I can still smell shit on my fingers however, even after washing them repeatedly and dousing myself in Alchol Hand Sainitiser!

I blammed the dog and the daughter for these two unreated incidents.
