Going back to the Tuna thing, what was meant is that Americans (I'm being stereotypical, I don't mean all Americans, some must get it right) have a problem with words with the "U" sound in it after a "T" like Tuna, Tuesday, Tube and Tuba etc. In such a place the letter "U" actually makes a "U" sound like the name of the letter and not an "OOOH" sound as in "Loo" Americans don't seem to get this English language concept and they say Toosday, toobe, toona and tooba without making the U sound. phonically sounded out, those words are pronounced:
chew - na (Tuna)
chews - day (Tuesday) and
Chewb (Tube).
Chew - ba (Tuba)
Obviously you pronounce the "t" as a"t" and not really a "Ch" but that ws to make the point on the pronounciation of the next phonic sound in the word.
Thankyou for your time, you can relax now.

this is a matter of linguistics.

In real life I am one of the least confrontaional and argumentative person you'll meet, i'd arther let something go than start an argument. On here if I say something slightly controversial, certain members will bite back and I love that, I'll reply again then they will but when they do they seem so very annoyed...it's great fun!
