Firstly, Deadly, did you read the article I linked to? It sums up incredibly accurately how I feel about not 'speaking ill of the dead'.

Secondly, Russell Brand is a very clever bloke. I like him as a bloke, but not a comedian... it did take me some time to come to this conclusion, since I never liked his comedy, I always avoided his TV appearances.

My dad absolutely loathed Thatcher, I guess it rubbed off on me a little bit, I had no love for the woman either.

I saw someone sum up Thatcher's reign thusly: "Thatcher = Record levels of unemployment. Brit manufacturing capacity halved. Hospitals closed. Schools closed. Deregulated the financial sector. I didn't realise the ONLY major legislation she introduced was the Housing Act, but tis true if you check the Government website - though I did clearly know that Attlee was a far, far better PM owing to all the things he did to make ordinary people's lives better.

I took a cross channel ferry to Zeebrugge once and the onboard entertainment were a Romanian duo.
One keyboard, one guitar. No bugger on the dance floor.

They asked for any requests to help boost the atmosphere.
I requested A-ha - Take on me. They played. I proceeded to tear up the dance floor.
3.045 seconds later the dance floor is heaving.

The power of A-ha there. Thank you misfit.

That reminds me of the time in September 1997 when I was in Rome in a nightclub and the DJ put a dance remix of Candle in the Wind on. Nobody knew what to do with themselves so being underage I thought I'd try and get the other 5 people in the club dancing. Got thrown out in the end.
