It really was an excellent show. I thought the last 4 episodes of the show were some of the best television ever.

I started watching JJ Abraham's 'Revolution' last night (The premise is that one day electricity ceases to exist. Fast forward 15 years and society has changed dramatically).

The pilot was OK. Enough to drag me in, but poorly acted with drawn out boring action scenes.

I wouldn't bother going past it unless you really want to be annoyed and frustrated. Great premise for the show, but the writing and much of the acting is really pretty poor. I watched the whole 1st half-season hoping it would get better. What a mistake.

And yet it's done quite well in the rating here in the US. It's definitely for those who like their apocalyptic-themed shows to be only lightly apocalyptic. For myself - I prefer death, mayhem, anarchy, dirt, grime and chaos in my apocalypses.

I think that they're going to stretch out the whole 'Who is Clara Oswald' thing until it's boring. The Catherine Tate story arc and 'why is she special?' was done very subtly - but this seems like it's trying to retain a new audience (ahem, America) that they've gained by virtue of a recent spike by continually alluding to the whole Oswald mystery thing and then delivering what is essentially filler.

Arrow- Cool
Touch - Weird, not the best acting, okay
Revolution - Crap acting, fit birds who kick bottoms
Continuum- Amaze Balls
Big Bang Theory - Okay, nerdy fun, very repetitive, sort of like "friends" for people who grew up without them.

Currently on season 4 of Breaking Bad. First American show I have properly gotten into.

Well, you definitely gave it a shot with 8 episodes in. I watched all of the first series and I thought it was pretty good. Not great, but good. The only real problem I have with the show is how does that kid get all that fancy computer equipment? The CIA would be envious I think. Otherwise I like it.

The premise of the show is good and I thought it started off pretty strongly.
However, as I continued watching I realised I couldn't stand the lead actress. I thought she was dreary as * and bugged the bejesus out me whenever she was on the screen.

And as you stated, the kid in the roof of the barn with better computer technology than NASA!
What the * is that all about?

"Yeah, hold on dreary future cop lady. I'll get that door open for you from my barn. I need to just take over the whole worlds security systems, re-route my signal through several ghost IP addresses and a phantom server in Bandar Seri Begawan. I'm like a kid a Christmas every Sunday night, knowing this program is gonna hit my tv box the following night.

Also looking forward to tonight's episode of Game of Thrones. Having read the books, it's a pretty good adaptation considering the size of each book in the series.

BBC America started a new series, Orphan Black, several weeks ago. Don't know if it's over in the UK yet. 3 episodes in and I think it's pretty good so far.

I saw the first couple of episodes of Revolution - not buying it.

Speaking of Arrow, am I the only person to get really annoyed by the US Network's tendency to produce episodes when they feel like it? Arrow's just had a two week break as has Supernatural...

Oh, they do that with everything. I still remember the time Lost had a three-month season break...*dramatic sniff*

Yea - it's pretty annoying. There are occasions, like with Lost, they would take a hiatus because they literally needed to finish the episodes for that season. But it has been a fad with the broadcast networks here for awhile now that putting a show on hiatus is a good thing because it keeps people wanting more! In contrast, it often kills shows because people find other things to watch and they forget about the particular show on hiatus and never come back to it. No one ever said network execs were very smart.

Arrow had a long mid-season break, then a three week break last month - and three episodes after that the series is over. Yes, it is damn annoying.

How I Met Your Mother and Big Bang Theory annoy me. They just keep randomly having breaks of 1-4 weeks.

My wife and I have watched the 1st two episodes of Da Vinci's Demons (a new show on the Starz cable channel). It's OK. She likes it better than I do. I'm having a hard time thinking of Da Vinci as this young, verile, smart-assed punk who has a healthy dose of Sherlock Holmes brilliance thrown in.

To be honest if it was just me I'd have no interest in the show, but my wife puts up with a lot of the junk I like to watch so I'm willing to sit through this. Besides, I pay more attention to our ipad while it's on.
