Thankyou both No, it's not silly at all. Tattoos are - or should be - an expression of your personality, so if you feel they're not 'you', then they're probably not! I totally understand the thing about social connotations too. I think it's slightly different for men in that they can easily take on a 'yob' connotation, depending on the designs and the wearer. I know that people do judge me on them though, and whilst that's kind of a bummer, I'm pretty used to it at this point.
